Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of ultra-fine, singleuse, sterile
needles into specific points in the body. These points will have
been chosen depending on your diagnosis and are stimulated to move
or tonify Qi (energy) flowing through meridians or energy pathways.
All the acupuncture points have particular uses, actions and
cautions and Philip has been trained to use the most effective
points for your condition. A typical treatment may involve the
insertion of between 8-18 needles in various locations on the
body. Philip uses a combination of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (TCM),
Five-Element Acupuncture, and Western Medical Acupuncture (trigger
point acupuncture) to provide you with the full spectrum of
acupuncture to ensure you’re receiving a treatment that is suitable
for your individual health concerns.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion involves the burning of the herb Mugwort (Artemisia
vulgaris) in either a specially prepared cigarshaped roll, loose
onto needles or in a “moxa-box” over the body. All of these methods
are designed to warm the body and can even be used to add warmth to
specific acupuncture points.
Massage
Philip utilises a range of massage techniques from Thai massage,
Swedish massage, Shiatsu, trigger point massage, acupressure
massage, Indian head massage and reflexology. Philip uses massage to
help with musculoskeletal problems or aid relaxation. |

Laser Acupuncture
Laser Acupuncture Laser acupuncture involves the use of a
low-energy, cold, red-beamed laser to stimulate acupuncture points.
It is a much gentler treatment and is therefore suitable for
children and those who are overly sensitive to needling.
Electro-acupuncture
Electro-acupuncture is the use of low voltage stimulation between
two needles to clear any energetic blockages. It is usually
indicated for joint pain or tendon damage.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping is an ancient technique that was initially used to treat
common colds. It involves creating a vacuum in glass or plastic
cups, either by using a flame to burn out the oxygen inside or using
a suction pump. The vacuum created is very effective at unlocking
muscular tension.
Auricular Therapy
Auricular therapy involves either the insertion of ultrafine,
single-use, sterile needles into points on the ear, or the
application of ear seeds, which can be worn and stimulated outside
of the clinic.
Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation
that also promotes healing. It involves the “laying on” of hands
onto specific areas of the head or body and is incredibly relaxing
and soothing. It is suitable for all. |
